FORMAS & EFEITO Projetos Arquitetônicos LTDA was founded on May 13, 1993 with the initial purpose of developing architectural projects. Over its trajectory, the company expanded into full construction execution under turnkey lump-sum contracts, administration, construction management, and technical consulting, combining spatial design with executive engineering rigor.
Key milestones in the educational and institutional sectors include the design of the São José School Sports Gymnasium in São Leopoldo (3,067 m² built area) and the complex retrofit and expansion of Colégio Nossa Senhora do Bom Conselho in Porto Alegre — a historic four-story building completely demolished internally down to its perimeter walls and rebuilt with an additional floor and modern internal layout, preserving the historic original facade.
In high-complexity healthcare engineering, the company established leadership through bold technical interventions: the construction of the 8th Floor of Hospital Divina Providência (Surgical Block, ICU, Post-Anesthesia Recovery, and CME covering ~90% of the building footprint over the existing roof while the hospital remained 100% active), the underpinning and foundation lowering of three columns in Block A for Emergency Department expansion, and the structural foundation reinforcement at Hospital Banco de Olhos de Porto Alegre.
Formas & Efeito actively participates in ABDEH (Brazilian Association for the Development of Healthcare Buildings), dedicated to technical advancement in healthcare architecture and engineering in Brazil. How do you work in a building that remains open? ▾
We plan each stage with the client, isolate the work area, and control dust and noise. We also schedule material deliveries and debris removal to limit disruption to daily operations.
What does Formas & Efeito handle under a turnkey contract? ▾
We coordinate the project from design through construction and handover, including approvals, materials, and the work itself. You have one point of contact and receive a space ready to use.
Do you build healthcare spaces to ANVISA and CNEN standards? ▾
Yes. Our team has over 30 years of experience with healthcare projects and works to ANVISA regulations RDC 50, 307, and 330, as well as CNEN shielding standards. We also take part in ABDEH, Brazil’s healthcare building association.
